Marriage Trainer: An eight-week course based on Dr. Gary Chapman's best-selling book "The Seasons of Marriage" through practical training, experiences and exercises.
Course Date: Thursdays starting Feb. 19.
Course Time: 6:30-8 p.m.
Course Purpose: A marathon runner will spend months, even years preparing for a race that ends just a few hours after the starting gun. College students will spend over $200,000 to get a degree that may train them for an occupation they (hopefully) will be involved in for the next 40 years. What causes athletes and students to seek such training — a desire to be prepared for what's ahead. Yet when it comes to marriage our training is a few pre-marriage sessions, watching our parents, or watching The Cleavers, The Cunningham's, The Huckstable's, The Simpsons, The Foker's or some other fake family to get our cues. No one trains us to be married - - the role we will have "until death do you part!"
In 2026, divorce continues to be a significant issue for many couples. While the notion that half of all marriages end in divorce is exaggerated, it's still a reality for many. In the U.S., 43% of first marriages end in divorce, but the rate jumps to 60% for second marriages and 73% for third marriages.
What if you dedicated twelve hours of your time over the next 8 weeks to a marriage workout training through seven strategies and some important take home assignments?
